About the event

On May 21, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sing For Your Lives will present a “Singing For Change” vocal workshop in support of Knoxville’s own Marble City Opera. The workshop will take place at The Flying Anvil Theater at 1300 Rocky Hill Rd in Knoxville.

In this two-hour workshop, you can expect to:

1. Expand your range

2. Improve your breath management

3. Find freedom, ease, and joy in your voice

4. Engage the truly transformative power of your singing voice

5. Discover how singing can be a powerful catalyst for positive change in your community

Drs. Graham and Stefanie Anduri, co-founders of Sing For Your Lives, are presenting this workshop to the Knoxville community as a way of empowering singers of all levels to explore the transformative power of the human voice. Their unique, holistic approach to singing and teaching has been honed over the past 20 years to combine science, art, and philosophy. Through their “Transformative Singing Process,” the Anduris have helped thousands of singers around the world to find freedom, confidence, and purpose in their singing.

“We are beyond impressed with the work that Marble City Opera is doing to bring important issues to the public’s awareness, and to use the art of opera to promote positive social change. We are honored to support organizations like MCO whose mission is very much aligned with ours.” - Stefanie Anduri

MCO founder Kathryn Frady said, “Marble City Opera has a history of inclusivity and bringing light and work to underrepresented artists and stories.” According to the company’s website, MCO’s “...tradition to connect to social themes began with their first full production with orchestra in 2013 when Frady donated 9 inches of her hair and audience donations to Children with Hair Loss following the final performance of The Gift of the Magi.”

“The idea behind this workshop is to get as many people as possible to experience the truly transformative power that singing can have on us. We love helping people discover their voices, and discover themselves in the process. But what we really want is to help people discover how to use singing as a vehicle for making the world a better place.” - Graham Anduri

A portion of the proceeds from the workshop will go directly to Marble CIty Opera in support of its mission to enhance the artistic culture of the Knoxville community and to help launch the careers of emerging vocal artists.
